The suffixes "ensis", "ae", and "i" are not random, they have meaning in binomial nomenclature.

Suffixes:
1.) “ensis” Example: Krobia xingu++ensis++. The suffix “ensis” refers to the location that the organism comes from. In the case of Krobia xinguensis. What the species names is telling us is that it is found in the Rio Xingu.
2.) “ae” Example: Iodotropheus sprenger++ae++. The suffix “ae” indicates that the species was named after a woman. In this case the species was named after Ms. Katherine Sprenger.
3.) “i” or “ia” Example: Labeotropheus fuelleborn++i++. The suffix “i or ia” indicates that the species was named after a man. In this case the species was named after Dr. Friedrich Fulleborn.
